Sir C. Clementi had an interview with General

Chan King-shu, the present Head of the Canton

Government at which the position of the Kwangsi leaders in Hong Kong was discussed and also the purchase of engines for the

Kowloon-Canton Railway and the possibility

of establishing telephone communication between Hong Kong and Canton.

A copy of

Pra 6.28/4/29 paragraph 2 of enclosure No. 1 should be

placed on the file about the Kwangsi leaders.
